SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability in farming and land management is an integrated into our business on a daily basis. 

Here are the considerations taken to achieve sustainable levels:

ENVIRONMENT

We recognize that we are part of the local and global community.  We work to minimize any impact to the air, water, soil, and people that we are neighbors with.  

SOILS

Soil tilth is important to the roots and overall health of plants in their environment.  Most cultivated farmground is low in natural organic matter, so we add ammendments in the form of carbon and soil microbes to enhance nutriet uptake into the plants.

WATER

Water is applied from multiple resources, we test for water quality and mineral content.  Our objective is to utilize water to match the demand of the plants.  We schedule water based on evapotranspiration calculation, soil water holding capacity, and utility conservation. 

CROP INPUTS

Fertilizers and soil amendments are applied to feed the plants what they need to produce the best crops.  We utilize data from leaf tissues, soils, water, and university research to apply the needs at the correct intervals.  Insects, disease, and weeds are controlled utilizing the best Integrated Pest Management practices to maximize every control application.

PROFITABILITY

If the farm is not profitable, then it cannot continued to be farmed without making critical changes.  Our job is to not only sustain, but to exceed the normal profitability of your farm.
